The New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been advised to choose a running mate from the Bono Region or the Bono East Region by Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, the president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
The Omanhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area claims that if Dr. Bawumia chooses to select a candidate from a different region, the region will not support him.
As part of his regional tour, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stopped by the Bono Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani and spoke with the paramount chief/High Court Judge.
“Your Excellency, please. I am aware that you will select your running companion very shortly. I’m not aware of you picking either.
There are plenty of qualified candidates in many of the regions, but if you don’t exercise caution and concentrate solely on a few, some people will support you while the rest of us will vote against you.
“Your Excellency, I request that the Bono region be commemorated.” I’ve noticed you’ve come here with local sons,” he remarked.
He suggested that Dr. Bawumia take into consideration the opinions of Martin Adjei Korsah, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, and Mahama Afful.
“Who you choose as your running companion is of interest to us in the Bono region and Bono East. He continued, “I will be appreciative if it comes here, but I will understand if it goes somewhere.
