After shooting a fellow student, a 20-year-old student from Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) in the Northern Region was taken into custody.

According to Joy News, Senior Housemaster Moses Amegatse led the school administration in bringing in Abubakari Abdul Majid.

He’s been taken into custody and is helping the police with their investigation right now.

The final-year student said that the pistol belonged to two other students, whose identities are not easily found.

Abdullah Abdul Somed, 20, was hurt when Abubakari Majid, claiming he had taken the revolver from one of them and was posing for photos, unintentionally pulled the trigger.

Somed was wounded in the arm and is presently undergoing treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. He is healing nicely from his wounds.

Regarding the occurrence, enquiries have also been made with two additional pupils.

Sources close to Joy News said that efforts are being made to recover the pistol and that school administrators are helping the police find the other two pupils involved.
