Kwame Asare Obeng, also referred to as A-Plus, has been contacted by the Ghana Police Service to help with the current investigation into the death of investigative journalist Ahmed Husein Suale.

This comes after A-Plus recently claimed on social media that he has information relevant to the case.

On Saturday, July 13, 2024, A-Plus said during a Facebook live session that he was aware of the people who killed Ahmed Suale.

He said, “I am always ready to justify my claim if called upon to do so,” indicating that he would be cooperative with law enforcement.

In response to his claims, the independent Gomoa Central parliamentary candidate has been formally approached by the police.

The Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) formed the Cold Case Unit in October 2021, and the Police emphasised in a statement the unit’s responsibility for handling such investigations.

The team has been in constant contact with the family of the dead journalist while conducting a thorough investigation into the situation.

The statement said, “Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) has indicated that he has some information that could assist the ongoing investigation, and the Police are therefore pleased, and he has been invited accordingly.”
