We deeply regret the untimely demise of our National Chairman, Alhaji Yahya Siaka. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

The Alliance of Drivers, Ghana, has sighted publications in the media by concerned drivers, purporting an increase in public transport fare in the country, effective 22nd July 2024, Monday.

We wish to inform the general public that there has not been any lorry fare increase from the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) to transport operators.

We, therefore, urge the general public to disregard the purported increase from concerned drivers.

Any driver group trying to increase the fare without government permission should be treated as thieves.

We call on the IGP to arrest concerned drivers and their leaders immediately. Otherwise, we will come out with a naked demonstration against the president.

Ghanaians should not take concerned drivers and their leaders seriously.

They are stomach politicians working for the opposition party. We, the Alliance of Drivers, Ghana, formerly Drivers for Change, are working truly to save Ghanaians.

God bless Ghana.

Signed,

General Secretary: George Baafoa Owusu Afriyie
