A Young man of 35years age Sabbatain Akwasi Kanyettey A. K. A. Gateytey has allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Kasoa Blue Kiosk in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The deceased went to sleep on Sunday, August 4, 2024, according to preliminary investigations; nonetheless, the suspect was found dead in his chamber, with a robe around his neck.
The deceased person’s lifeless corpse was discovered in his chamber, laying on his head with his head resting on a bloody spill that was also on the floor.
According to police investigations, the dead hanged himself on the ceiling fan hook, but during his struggle, he fell, and it is thought that his head hit the ground.
Speaking to the media, the dead’s brother Jerome said that the deceased had been complaining about some ghosts that were pursuing him for the last few days.
The deceased was reportedly a tiler by day and a former football player for the Division 2 league.
The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has sent the deceased to the Police Mortuary for an autopsy.
On the other hand, Hon. Habbib Abdulai, the Assemblyman for the Opeikuma-Kumbe-Krispocity Electoral region, urged young people to refrain from ending their lives when they encounter hardships since suicide is never a viable choice.
Last but not least, Nana Okoboaman II, also known as Nana K. B., the Odzikro of Gomoa Kumbey, lamented the rising number of suicide cases in the community and demanded a stop to them.
