A vicious robbery attack in Assin Fosu has left Cocoa District Officer Lucas Osei, 41, fighting for his life.

Around two in the morning on Thursday, four masked robbers carrying machetes and scissors assaulted Osei, also known as D.O., in the New Habitat neighbourhood of Assin Fosu.

The victim suffered serious injuries when the thieves attacked him in his sleep in his room and made off with GH¢100,000, two computers, and two cell phones.

Speaking with Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack of Angel TV, witnesses claimed to have seen the victim in a pool of blood while calling for assistance. They then hurried him to St. Francis Xavier Hospital so he could receive medical attention.

Concurrently, a group of law enforcement officials, under the direction of Superintendent Kwabena Darkoh, the Central North Regional Police Crime Officer, swiftly addressed the situation.

However, the suspects managed to escape before the team arrived at the scene. Consequently, the officers were able to recover the machete and scissors, which have been preserved as evidence.

Also, the police officers including the Central North Regional Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe proceeded to the hospital to assess the extent of the injuries inflicted on the victim.

The investigation is ongoing, and the community is in shock over the vicious attack.
