Due to a hole, Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has stated that it would repair the 900mm (36″) gearbox line at Breman Ahenfo.

The gearbox line needed to be repaired since on July 12, 2024, drainage work from the Suame roundabout to Breman Ahenfo damaged it.

In order to expedite the repair, GWL announced on Monday, July 22, that the Barekese Water Treatment Plant will be closed on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, so that GWL engineers may begin work on repairing the gearbox line.
Asokwa, Bantama, Sokoban, Kronum, Barekese, Manhyia, Oforikrom, Kwadaso, Atasamanso, Kotwi, Adum, KNUST, Odoum, Asokore Mampong, and the neighbouring villages are among the locations that would be impacted. Suame is also one of the affected areas.

Before beginning the workout, customers are encouraged to stockpile enough water to last the entire time.

GWL promises that customers will not experience any disruption and apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused. The water supply will be restored as soon as the repairs are finished.
