According to Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, the presidential advisor on health, hospital projects left undone by the previous Mahama administration have been completed by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Friday, July 26 at the Accra Digital Centre during the second Badwam Sectorial Debate on Adom TV, Dr. Nsiah-Asare pointed out that the NDC had started seven hospital projects but had only finished one.

He underlined that the NPP administration finished these initiatives, including adding more lodging options in Sekondi, using the GHS38.8 million that was left over.

He also brought up the fact that the NPP government finished and put the Bekwai Hospital into service in November 2020, despite it being declared complete in the NDC’s “green book.”
“The 120-bed facilities at Fomena, Kumawu, and Dodowa are the two Ashanti area hospitals that the NDC government was unable to finish. Only one of the seven hospital projects that the NDC started has been finished.

“The accommodation projects in Fomena, Kumawu, and Sekondi were completed with the remaining 38.8 million from the funds allotted.” Although it wasn’t built, the NDC listed Bekwai Hospital as a completed project in its green book.

Dr. Nsiah-Asare said, “The NPP government has built 17 isolation centres, some of which are already completed, in preparation for any future emergencies.”
