In a hamlet named Twum Owusu Krobo in the Kwaebibirem District of the Eastern Region, several locals have suffered horrendous injuries at the hands of purported military personnel as a result of their resistance to galamsey operations.
Precious media found out that a mining company by the name of UGA EKO FRIENDLY MINING COMPANY assaulted the village and forced mining on them. According to the community, mining will only be permitted if a borehole pipe is drilled for them.
The community members claim that if the mining company refuses to build the line, they will not permit mining operations in the region.
To downgrade their cocoa crops, the mining firm suddenly assaulted the neighbourhood.
Some security guards, who appeared to be military officers, attacked the community in an attempt by the locals to stop the miners, severely hurting numerous individuals in the process.
