The National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) National Youth Organiser, George Opare Addo, has promised to thwart any attempts by rivals to pilfer vote boxes during the general elections in 2024.
He issued a warning, saying that anyone trying to steal vote boxes would face consequences from the NDC.
Speaking on Saturday, July 27, 2024, during the NDC’s campaign launch in Tamale, Opare Addo voiced confidence in the party’s win by pointing to their accomplishment in guarding vote boxes at the Assin North by-election.
He went on to say that they will risk their lives to safeguard the voting papers.
“On December 7, I am sending my final communication to Madam Jane Mensa of the Electoral Commission.We are quite certain that we will win the elections, therefore we are not requesting anyone to cheat on our behalf. We shall confront any male born of a woman who would dare to visit a polling place and conduct anything improper.
“We safeguarded the ballot boxes when we were in the Assin North, and on December 7 we will safeguard the ballot boxes at all costs.”
According to him, the young are demanding that NDC leader John Dramani Mahama save the country.
We’re searching for Ghana that we can all be proud of. We want to live in a Ghana where our goals and desires are realised. I really think that John Mahama is the solution to the issues we are trying to solve because he keeps his word and delivers on his commitments.
