The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has urged party members to stay alert until all votes are counted by the Electoral Commission (EC) in the general elections of 2024. Speaking at the NDC’s campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, Mahama emphasised that every aspect of the electoral process will be closely monitored to prevent any potential rigging in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). “Everyone needs to prepare, we’re not going to sleep for 48 hours until all the ballots have been counted. And I want to reassure everyone in Ghana who plans to vote for the NDC: we will safeguard each and every vote.
“We’re willing to give the Electoral Commission the benefit of the doubt, even though we have our issues with them,” he promised.
