Onyeka Onwenu, a renowned vocalist from Nigeria, sadly died at the age of 72.
According to reports, the music legend passed away at Reddington Hospital in Lagos on Tuesday night, July 30.
Onwenu was visiting Emzor Pharmaceuticals’ Mrs. Stella Okoli’s birthday celebration when the event happened, according to family-close sources.
Onwenu finished her act, went back to her seat, and then abruptly sagged.
She was sent to Reddington Hospital right away and later declared dead.
It is unknown what caused the death.
Both her innumerable followers globally and the Nigerian music business are deeply saddened by her death.
