In an effort to enhance security measures for the upcoming December polls, the Police hierarchy has convened a meeting with the Council of State Members.

The meeting was held at Accra International Conference Center (AICC), aimed to apprise the council of the Ghana Police Service preparedness for the pre-election, election, and post-election periods.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Chief Supt. Grace Ansah-Akrofi (MS.), Director of Police Public Affairs Directorate assured the public that the Ghana Police Service, as the lead security agency for the elections is fully equipped and ready to ensure security throughout the electoral process.

She emphasized that, the Police will collaborate with other security agencies under the National Election Security Task Force to maintain peace and order before, during, and after the elections.

Thus to her, the Police Service will ensure that the 2024 general election will be one of the most peaceful ever elections held under the fourth Republic.

Chief Supt. Grace Ansah-Akrofi opined that the 3 by-election recently held in the country proves the fact that Ghana Police Service is fully prepared for the task ahead on 7th December 2024.
