With over 1.8 million housing deficit in Ghana. It is only proper and highly expedient that one should genuinely welcome any augmented effort from either a public or private enterprise in any meaningful attempt to ameliorate Ghana’s housing deficiency. In fact research has shown that any country indebted to grave housing deficit directly impact the family tree by raising their housing costs astronomically  to unaffordable heights which in the final analysis has broad national implications thereby limiting labor mobility, productivity, and economic growth.

1.It is inconsonance with the above, that TEAM SAGLEMI NOT FOR SALE commends the honorable minister for works and housing, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for the 320 police housing units commissioned recently.

2.We however wish to remind the president and his chief housing minister of the fast deteriorating 1,506 Saglemi housing project. If commissioning 320 housing units means so much to them i.e the president and his minister, then we Innocuously wish to throw a caution to them to equally pay serious attention to the Saglemi project which is currently in a deplorable state and gradually withering away at the mercy of the harsh weather.

3.In a statement issued on Friday, July 19, 2024, and signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Works and Housing, Elvis Adjei-Baah, the Ministry highlighted the significance of the project. “The completion and utilization of this housing project will augment the government’s other housing programmes that are being rolled out to increase the residential stock of public service workers,” the statement read. With reference to myjoyonline.com as well as classfmonline.com, the project will represents a substantial effort by the government to enhance the living conditions of public service workers and to address the housing deficit in the country.

Therefore, if overcoming Ghana’s housing deficiency is so dear and paramount to the incumbent government, then it is still unthinkable and a grave shock to us as to why a whole thousand five hundred and six (1506) housing units will be left to die with careless abandon by the same leadership that prides itself in commissioning 320 units of houses.

This to us remains a housing paradox.

4.More importantly, we as TEAM SAGLEMI wish to state unequivocally and categorically want to put on record that the 1,506 SAGLEMI  PROJECT is NOT for sale. if commissioning 320 housing units brings so much joy to the commissioner and sees the project as aesthetically promising and further add to Ghana’s housing growth, then we call on the minister of works and housing and the president to as a matter of urgency cloth SAGLEMI with all the needed and necessary accessories to welcome its commissioning as well. ANY ATTEMPT TO SELL OFF SAGLEMI TO ANY FRIEND OR CRONIES SHALL BE RESISTED WITH FULL FORCE OF THE YOUTH OF THIS COUNTRY. “This is not a threat but a promise.”

5.Finally the friends and cronnies of this Nana Akufo Addo-Dr Bawumia government are hereby admonished to desist from nursing any selfish idea to purchase the SAGLEMI HOUSING PROJECTS like some of them looted some state properties like our prime lands with a chicken fee because we shall impress upon the newly sworn in leadership following the 2024 general elections to repossess our properties. Like they wanted to sell off the SSNIT hotels and was met with fierce rejection, Saglemi  won’t be an exception.

TEAM SAGLEMI NOT FOR SALE, equaly want to impress upon the incoming government to punish every individual involved in the Saglemi housing deal who have wilfully caused financial loss to the state as by the laws of Ghana establish.
