Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s tenacity and humility on Thursday morning astounded and inspired the people of Chereponi constituency in the North East Region.
Dr. Bawumia was supposed to meet with voters early in the morning as part of his campaign, but an unexpected downpour jeopardised his plans as a large number of anticipatory voters had gathered.
But instead of ducking under the protection of his car, Dr. Bawumia showed incredible passion by walking into the rain to interact with the people.
As Dr. Bawumia greeted the people at a durbar field in the rain, hundreds of them joined him, jubilant in the same way.
Many of the constituents were heard praising Dr. Bawumia for his humility in walking through the rain to greet them, both in local and English languages.
Later on, Dr. Bawumia visited a number of constituents, much to their surprise.
He made small talk with both young and old.
Many were so excited about the unexpected house-to-house visits that they didn’t even wait for Dr. Bawumia to come see them; instead, they turned out in large numbers to both observe and welcome him into their home.
Dr. Bawumia resumed his engagements in the Mion seat following his involvement in the Chereponi constituency.
