Unknown persons have set a Nissan Pickup belonging to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Binduri Constituency on fire.

On Monday, July 22, the event happened at the home of Samuel Ayaago, the constituency chairman, in Atuba, Binduri District.
Witnesses said that between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m., three masked individuals on two motorbikes opened fire at Mr Ayaago’s residence, destroying the car with the registration number GX 4164–17 and spilling what seemed to be fuel on it.
According to Citi News, the latest attack is in addition to other ones that took place in June of this year in the Zebilla and Pusiga constituencies.

The attackers used the NPP party cars and posters with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer, imprinted as targets to express their rage.
Abdulia Abanga, the area’s member of parliament and deputy minister for local government, was allegedly using the vehicle for campaign-related purposes.

During his visit to the area, the MP apologised for the action and urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate and find the perpetrators.

Mr. Abanga cautioned the public, particularly the NPP members, to maintain composure as the police looked into the situation.
