The Offinso District Court in the Ashanti Region has remanded two fetish priests into police prison for their alleged involvement in the death of a 67-year-old man at Amoawi, a village located inside the Offinso South Municipality.

On July 14, Nana Akwasi Amankwaa and Akua Asantewaa, the suspects, were taken into custody for the murder of Opanin Augustine Amponsah using chicken soup.

On July 14, it is remembered that the late Opanin Augustine Amponsah went to the fetish priest to ask for help pulling up a gold.

Okomfo Akwasi Amankwaa, the alleged killer, allegedly served the dead broth and chicken flesh that may have been contaminated.

After taking it and complaining subsequently of stomach pains, Opanin Augustine Amponsah passed away on the shrine a short while later.

After learning of this, Judge Christiana Blues of the Offinso District Court remanded two fetish priests into police prison with a deadline of August 16 for their appearance. She also directed the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the case.

This is what transpired today in the Court.
