61-year-old man dies in tragic tipper truck accident in Aburi

At Aburi in the Eastern Region, a horrifying accident claimed the life of a 61-year-old man.

Around noon on Wednesday, a tipper truck driver lost control of the vehicle and came to rest on the side of the road.

There were two occupants in the GT 3678-18 truck, which was transporting quarry dust.

The vehicle was travelling down a slope towards a recently built hamlet when the accident occurred, not far from the Aburi Total petrol station.
The vehicle apparently tipped over onto its passenger side when Asinyo lost control of the steering wheel.

George Amoah passed away at the scene after suffering deadly injuries.

For preservation and an examination, his body has been sent to the mortuary of Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital in Mampong Akwapim.

Michael Asinyo, the driver, 30, has been placed under arrest in order to help with the inquiry.
