The Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association is expected to embark on a demonstration on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
According to them, the move is to drum home their displeasure over the imposition of a five percent excise tax on all locally manufactured plastic products.
In the statement signed by the President of the Association, Ebow Botwe disclosed that the demonstration will commence from Kwame Nkrumah Avenue through to the AccraTechnical University and end at the Ministry of Finance.
Earlier in June, the association threatened to halt production for a week if its request for extensive consultation with the Ministry of Finance on implementing the five percent excise tax is not met.
They claimed the Ministry of Finance had yet to respond to a letter of request for a meeting, since April 2024.
