Tamale: A religious leader dismembers the bodies of children after murdering them.

Two three-year-old children were killed in what appears to have been a ritual homicide in Kakpayili, a Tamale neighbourhood in the Northern Region.

Their mutilated, decaying corpses were left in a car beside a Mallam Madaha’s residence.

Context

On June 22, 2024, two kids from the Kakpayili village went missing, according to reports.

The lads were looked for, and on June 25, 2024, an official police report was filed after two days with no luck.Mallam Mahada was called to the palace of the Kakpayili chief and his name was mentioned as a suspect.

He first denied but then acknowledged that he had slain the children as well as the other six, for a total of eight children killed.

He was contacted by police, and his house was searched. Child human body parts were discovered in a closed room and in a vehicle.

The finding of the dead infuriated the locals, who set Mallam Madaha’s home on fire and vandalised it.

Since then, Mallam Madaha and his spouse have been held by the police.
