An ultimatum has been sent to the government by the chiefs of Kenyasi Numbers 1 and 2 in the Ahafo Region and Hwidiem in the Asutifi South District.

They are requesting that construction on the Hwidiem-Kenyasi road begin right away.

The chiefs issued a warning during a news conference in Kenyasi, saying that they would organise their villages to protest the government on August 6, 2024, if the contractor, Kofi Job, did not restart work.

They claim that people in their villages are suffering because of the dust on the roads.

Speaking for the three communities’ chiefs, Nana Agyemang lamented the government’s indifference.

Following a recent press conference emphasising the pressing need for the government to act on the protracted Hiwdiem-Kenyasi route, no action has been made by the administration. Sadly, the road continues to become worse. According to him, the chiefs are urging every citizen to participate in the massive protest that is slated for August 6, 2024.

Nana Agyemang promised to spearhead a number of protests up till their demands are fulfilled.

“Even though we are still dedicated to peacefully resolving grievances, we could be forced to carry out a series of protests until the problematic roads are addressed. He said, “We are optimistic that the government and other pertinent parties will pay attention and act to repair the roads.
