The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has confirmed that Kotoka International Airport (KIA) is operating normally despite a global IT outage affecting numerous airports and airlines.
The IT outage has disrupted various industries worldwide, including airlines, banks, retail outlets, and broadcasters, causing grounded flights and widespread delays, particularly among major U.S. airlines.
Although Microsoft announced that the issue had been resolved, problems persist, with blue error screens appearing on public displays across the U.S. and beyond.
In a statement released on Friday, GACL said all flights are operating according to schedule.
The management of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) would like to notify travellers that it is aware of the worldwide IT outage that is now impacting some airports and airlines throughout the globe.
For the record, all flights are running on time at Kotoka International Airport, and there hasn’t been any impact thus far,” the statement said.
The GACL has promised that, as things develop, it would keep a careful eye on the situation and notify the travelling public as needed.
