Dancehall king Shatta Wale has come under fire from renowned Nigerian filmmaker and video director Sir Choppenson for allegedly not paying up on unpaid invoices for a number of his projects.
Sir Choppenson claims that he was hired to make many music videos for Shatta Wale, including the most recent one for the song “Killa Ji Mi,” which was shot in Tamale.
Speaking out on social media, Sir Choppenson asserted that he has not yet received full paid for the 13 videos he completed for Shatta Wale, including the one that garnered international notice and led to a duet with Beyoncé.
He said that less than $5,000 was agreed upon for the most recent shootings, but Shatta Wale had pledged $15,000, which is still outstanding.
Sir Choppenson said, “I have been begging for my money for over a month now.” “Shatta Wale makes excuses or gets angry every time I call.”
