In the Oti River, a 42-year-old diver and a member of the Krachi East Municipality personnel perished.
The event happened on the Oti river in Dambai when the deceased was reportedly trying to fix a pontoon’s broken engine.
The diver was a member of the operating team dealing with the pontoon’s difficulties.
Francis Gago Sena, an eyewitness, stated in an interview with Precious Media that the diver was abruptly drowned while trying to troubleshoot the engine.
The Ghana Navy rescue squad responded quickly, but they were unable to bring him back to life.
In addition to being a talented diver, the man was also a devoted husband and father, and Dambai is in deep sadness.
The dead person’s body has been placed in the Worawora Government mortuary while an autopsy is conducted.
