UGMC completes the first six kidney transplants with success.

The University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) Limited has successfully finished six kidney transplant procedures, the facility has stated.

These kidney transplant procedures are the first that the hospital has performed.

“Up until now, the UGMC has performed six kidney transplant procedures with the highest level of accuracy, skill, and care,” a social media message posted on Sunday night, June 30, 2024, stated.

The hospital also disclosed that the group in charge of carrying out the surgery was composed of both international and domestic experts who demonstrated “highly skilled and dedicated” work.

The six successful kidney transplants, according to UGMC CEO Dr. Kwame Anim Boamah, were a significant milestone that showed the hospital’s dedication to medical excellence as well as its capacity and readiness to offer patients high-quality interventions.
